About this deal

There are of course a few key differences between the 2022 and 2023 models. The C835K can’t hit the same levels of brightness as its successor, with peak brightness of 1,500 nits compared to 2,000 nits. It also uses an older processor – AiPQ 2.0 – meaning HDR tone-mapping and general processing aren’t quite as impressive. There’s no 98in option either, and the speaker system is powered differently, with two 15W drivers and a single 30W driver in place of the pair of 25W drivers and single 20W driver on the C835K. This is not an especially bright TV, though - its claimed peak brightness of 450 nits is nothing special, and in practice the TCL seems to struggle to hit even that modest figure. The white tones it creates are clean and varied, certainly, but they’re far from dynamic - and it follows that contrasts are not all that striking. Accordingly, if you’re looking for a Roku TV or 144Hz support or anything else, you can find it within TCL’s many different UK TVs on offer; however, for the purposes of this guide, we’ll be focusing on TCL’s flagship, lower-cost TVs with the most mainstream appeal. On the operating system side of things, TCL TVs use the Google TV interface in 2023 (unlike some previous years where Android OS was the main OS system for TCL models in the UK). TCL's flagship set, the Mini LED-powered C845K is a truly impressive TV. It's the brand's highest-end model, offering flagship screen tech and specs to match. Built for gamers and movie fans alike, it utilises a Mini LED panel to deliver a dazzlingly bright and punchy picture.

The screen in the TCL C64 is actually only a 60Hz screen, but there's a clever technique that can overdrive 60Hz screens to appear to refresh at 120Hz instead. It's called Dual Line Gate, and I wrote more about it here, including my experience of seeing a Philips TV using the technology. The initials stand for The Creative Life and the state-owned Chinese manufacturer typically targets the affordable end of the TV market, though it nevertheless employs some serious technology to rival some of the bigger brands. The latest standard for UHD content is High Dynamic Range. HDR PRO provides a superior High Dynamic Range experience with great contrast, shadow detail and vivid accurate colours. Experience incredible picture detail as the filmmakers intended. The picture you see is as detailed as it is in the real world. Dive further into the depth and detail!Firstly, high-quality gadgets and technology products tend to be more reliable. This means that they are less likely to break down or malfunction. When you’re relying on a product for an important task, such as work or communication, reliability is key. Investing in a high-quality TCL 43C645K Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR QLED TV with Google Assistant can give you peace of mind and help you avoid frustrating situations where your device fails you. You’ll be getting HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG alongside HDMI eARC instead of just ARC; plus, you’ll get the Google TV platform and virtual assistant support, too. All told, this is about what you’d expect from a relatively basic, modern 4K TV in 2023, but you might not expect the 4-Series’ pricing. Explore Comet and discover a constellation of products from washing machines and fridge freezers to air fryers, 4K TVs, laptops, consoles and more - it’s easy to find everything you need for your home in the Comet universe.

To be fair, though, it’s difficult to know where any meaningful economies might be achieved when it comes to the design of a television. When it’s not powered up, and you’re seated at regulation viewing distance from it, one TV looks very much like another - and the TCL has nice slim bezels, some discrete and confident branding across the bottom, and stands on a couple of simple ‘boomerang’ feet that raise it sufficiently to accommodate a soundbar beneath. So far, so absolutely standard. Secure Trust Bank PLC (register number 204550) is authorised by the PRA and regulated by the FCA and the PRA.TCL TVs may not be the best for gamers, largely opting out of supporting features like VRR or 120Hz, but this is often the case across brands at this price. High-end gaming features usually come with higher-end price tags, while TCL TVs will have no trouble with casual gaming, especially if you’re still playing on PS4 or Xbox One. On C64K Series, 120Hz refresh rate is achieved via unique algorithms and TCL technology. Game resolution is automatically set to Full HD to allow 120 images per second. A smooth image for latest 120Hz game console generations.
