About this deal

Ensure the surface is bare: remove any wax finishes with Liberon Wax and Polish Remover and any varnish finishes with Liberon Fine Wood Stripper. Clean, dry and ensure the surface is dust free. If required stain the wood with Liberon Palette Wood Dye before oiling. Suitable for all types of bare wood, and will give a matt - satin finish depending upon the number of coats applied. If required, wood can be stained prior to oiling with Liberon Palette Wood Dye, or an alternative wood stain. Because doors do not come under much wear & tear, sunlight exposure or staining you can use any oil or wax on a door that you like. You’re best just choosing an oil that suits the look and finish that you want. Furniture – Depends on use

Wood oils can be applied both directly to bare wood and timber, as well as over the top of wood stains. It is a decorative wood finish that also has protective qualities. With a pleasantly contrasting sheen over the wood grain, it brings out the natural character of the wood. Although the protective qualities are not as durable as wood varnishes, woodworkers favour its emphasis on character. Always do a test area before starting any project, to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Shake well before use. When finishing cedar wood, we recommend using linseed oil. This type of oil is the most popular with woodworkers, as well as cedar cladding users and craft enthusiasts.

Linseed oil is atraditional choice for nourishing and protecting wood. It comes in many forms andis obtained from the seed of the linseed-flax plant. Given its ease of use and cheap price, it is one of the most popularfinishing oils in the world. The Gloss version of Hard Wax Oil will build to a bright gloss finish after 2–3 coats. Rub down lightly between coats with a fine abrasive. Once hard dry (allow at least 24 hours) it can be brought to an even brighter shine using either the Buffing Wheel System or Burnishing Cream. We recommend using a tung oil for oak surfaces. This type of oil will maintain the oak's colour as well as character. However, if you would like to darken the oak, hardwax oil is more ideal. Another popular oil for oak is danish oil. This type of oil can bring out the rich tones in the wood as well as preventing surface stains.

For an eco-friendlieroption,we recommend using Rubio Monocoat Hybrid Wood Protector. RMC Hybrid Wood Protector is a 0% VOCone-coat oil that issuitable for decorating andprotecting all exterior wood (both horizontal and vertical). The easy application and maintenance make this oil an exceptionally user-friendly product.

It is important to stay within two coats of SFO, as the wood is saturated after two coats, and the additional coats will dry on the surface, and it is this residue that can create watermarks.
