Badass Normal: The final tie-in comic shows that before he gained the power of the Phantom Ruby, he was a highly skilled mercenary captain. He managed to fight his way through hundreds of Eggman's robots and came within a hairsbreadth of actually killing the good doctor, only failing due to the Phantom Ruby's interference.Chekhov's Gun: During his fight with Silver, Infinite drops one of the Phantom Ruby prototypes he was supposed to destroy. The Avatar would later find that same prototype, allowing them to survive Infinite's illusion during their fight with him, and allowing them to ultimately foil Eggman's plan to destroy the Resistance with a virtual sun. His ultimate fate after the final battle was left ambiguous until the Encyclo-speed-ia came out, in which it was revealed that he and his prototype were "consumed by the original Phantom Ruby." Power Crystal: The source of Infinite's power is the gem on his chest, a finalized version of the Phantom Ruby prototypes created by Eggman.

Items: An overview of the different noteworthy items that appear within their designated video game, Story-Breaker Power: Infinite is able to create " virtual reality constructs" that have the personalities and powers of the characters they are based on, so it's possible for him to create an army of giant Shadows, Chaoses and distorted versions of Perfect Chaos, Zavoks, and Metal Sonics. Mirror Character: Presumably the reason he loves tormenting the Avatar: He lost his squad and was called weak by a much more powerful opponent. It reminded Infinite of himself that day when he takes out the Avatar's squad and calls them "weak". Except now Infinite's the big dog who belittles his opponents, much like Shadow. Visual Pun: Infinite's habit of hovering above the heroes means that he's literally "looking down on them".

Ominous Visual Glitch: His aura occasionally has a glitch-like effect in some spots. The official Sonic Youtube channel's upload of his theme also has the image glitching out. His virtual reality constructs have the same glitching effect. Just before the final level of the game, Eggman is able to make him vanish like his constructs by recalling the Phantom Ruby, implying that part or all of his physical form had become a phantom construct. Jerkass: Exaggerated. Infinite spends nearly every second of his screentime behaving like a smug, sadistic bully that earns the ire of everyone from the Resistance, to the player, to even Eggman himself. Hero Chao's appearance as a spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is not included anywhere in the section.
