About this deal

a b What Did the Rebel Yell Sound Like?. From the article Civil War Veterans Come Alive in Audio and Video Recordings, Smithsonian Magazine, October 5, 2011. I was pleasantly surprised that the two Larceny samples I tasted fell into the OK-to-very-good category, given I have experienced friends that loathe the stuff. While I’m predisposed to rush to advance judgment, I believe there are enough countervailing headwinds and tailwinds here to keep me objective, or at least able to use ambivalence as a proxy for impartiality.

McDonald, F., (1978), "The Ethnic Factor in Alabama History: A Neglected Dimension", Alabama Review, 31, pp.256–65. Bourbon is a very unique and complex alcoholic drink that contains various different ingredients which all combine to create the perfect blend of flavors that many different bourbon selections are known for. Like with all forms of alcohol, there are several different bourbon brands, varieties, and selections out on the market for you to choose from. Numerous 4-year Distiller’s Collection Single Barrel offerings are also available under the Rebel Yell Bourbon name – prices also vary as they are often bottled for specific retailers and available in limited quantities. These bottles may appeal to those looking for a private-label wheated bourbon experience. NDPs don’t often disclose the source whiskey for their brands. But for a while, it was common knowledge the main supplier was Heaven Hill. However, the Stitzel-Weller’s original Rebel Yell bourbon recipe — which contained wheat instead of rye — remained the same. While Luxco has their own distillery now, it seems like Rebel Yell is still produced by the Heaven Hill because the label states the spirit is “bottled for” Luxco instead of being bottled by Luxco. This will hopefully / probably change sometime in the future as their self-produced whiskey gets to the appropriate age.A closer look at AnCnoc 35 Year Old: AnCnoc’s limited edition 35 year old second release is a must-try for fans of aged Scotch. This review provides a closer look at the liquid and the story behind it.

The nuttiness in this Rebel Yell 100 is really pronounced and nice. It screams Heaven Hill to me and that’s never a bad thing. The oakiness and nuttiness pair well with the dark confectionary sweetness and dark fruity sweetness ties it all together. I’m digging this one, well-done HH/Luxco folks! Okay, so this isn’t a great sip, but not awful either. Nothing about this bourbon, from a taste perspective, makes me want to willingly choose to buy a bottle. The mouthfeel is quite thin, the profile is standard, and the alcohol flavor is more prominent than you’d want. Reviewing Teeling 24 Years Old: Teeling Whiskey released this 33-year-old expression last year, which is said to be the “oldest bottling of Irish Single Malt ever released”. If you’re a fan of Irish whiskey, this one is definitely worth trying. The Rebel brand of bourbon whiskey, formerly known as Rebel Yell bourbon, was acquired in 1999 by the David Sherman Corporation, which was rebranded as Luxco in 2006. Lux Row Distillers is owned by Luxco, which was founded in 1958 by the Lux Family in St. Louis, Missouri. Luxco is a producer, supplier, importer, and bottler of alcohol beverage products. This is the primary distillation method by which all the Yell varieties are created however remember that certain steps may vary depending on the specific variety being produced at the time. Now that we’ve gone over the method by which all of these bourbon options are created, it’s time to look at the main ingredients included in these selections to help you make the right decision about which one will taste the best on your tongue. Inside the Ingredients: Rebel Yell BourbonBelow are frequently asked questions regarding Rebel Yell and Rebel Bourbon. Many of these are answered in the article above. Is Rebel Bourbon the Same as Rebel Yell? With a bit of ice this mellows out nicely and becomes a pretty standard bourbon. There’s the vanilla and caramel flavors creeping in, and even a bit of spice perhaps that’s still peeking through. Note: Luxco recently changed the brand’s name from ‘Rebel Yell’ Bourbon to ‘Rebel’ Bourbon. This change is still being implemented on retail shelves. So, to prevent further confusion as to whether these are the same brand, we’ve used the name interchangeably throughout this post.
